Landon, Jr's 2nd Birthday

100_1493

Where does the time go?  My oldest grandson is 2 years old already.  The 2 years have been so much fun!

Learning how to blow out the candles.

Really liked eating his cake.

Xavier is 9 1/2 months old now and is not being left out.  :)

100_1522

Landon, Jr. loved finding "dollars" in his birthday cards.  Each card he would say..."more dollars".  When it was all done he thought the money should be hauled away in his new dump truck.

Xavier is enjoying some of the new toys his brother got.  This little guy loves to look you right in the eye with his beautiful big blue eyes.  He is almost as big in size has Landon, Jr.  He is taking a few steps, when he does start walking, Landon, Jr. won't know what has happened.  Xavier will rule the place.

I haven't posted for awhile...time flies when you are having fun.  :)  So time for some new pictures.

  Here are my Landon's.

100_0808

Here is Xavier.  He is a bigger baby than Little Landon was.  He probably weighs 12 pounds by now.  He was 11 pounds something a few weeks ago.

Little Landon getting some a lone time with his Mom.  They are coming back from the park.

Kalena was over, so Landon and I got to have some fun together in Grandpa's new wagon.

100_1045

He loves eating Grandpa's apples from our tree.

His new coat.  I think he will stay warm.

When he came over 2 weeks ago he was into making some new faces.  Rob was trying to get some pictures of them.

100_1069

Landon and Toni went out for an afternoon so we were glad to have my Mom around to try and keep this little guy happy.  He knew his Momma wasn't around.  We were having a quieter moment.  You can tell by his face he was taking a breather before his next cry.  :)  He wanted to be on the move.  He is smiling now and does baby talk (when his Mom is near).  He watches everyone in the room.  We are anxious for all the fun he is going to bring our way.

Little Landon didn't like that I was so busy with little brother.  We had a hard time trying to figure out how the 3 of us were going to have time together.  Hehehehe

Rob has been doing really well.  We have found different things to help with managing his pain everyday.  He keeps on the move so he won't stiffen up.

We love Brad & Nancee's foster boys, they make times together so much fun.  We have had extra birthdays and it is so much more fun with a 8, 6, and 1 year olds around. They get so excited about everything.

We had the best Thanksgiving, my parents had a house full.  We had 4 kids under 8.  Paula's kids are a lot of fun and are great teenagers.  We had so many laughs on Thanksgiving Day.

We redid two bedrooms after I went back to part time at work.  Rob has his own office and I have my own office.  We got new furniture for both rooms.  I did a faux finish in Rob's office/media room.  He has a projector and screen so he can watch football and basketball in there.  So we have our own spaces to get away too.  hehehehe  We bought a nice queen air mattress and have the pack n plays so when Landon and family come to spend the night every comes out for the night and when they leave everything gets put away.  I do have a twin bed in my office that Kalena uses.  So we had a big family night a week ago with everyone here and it worked out great.

We have a lot to be thankful for.

Xavier Braeden Grogan

100_0852  On September 19th, 2008 at 11:11 am my second Grandson was born.  He weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long.  Mom and Xavier are doing well.  It was a busy time and we kept Little Landon and I went to work today so there wasn't anytime to post anything.  I just spent an hour trying to download pictures and putting it all together and I accidently closed AOL and now I start all over.

He had a lot of dark hair.  Sunday it looked like he had just got a nice hair cut.  Little Landon didn't have dark hair.

Little Landon didn't want to get to close to his new brother.

Curled his nose up at him.

I like how Grandpa and Daddy were trying to do duo pictures.

100_0845

Little Landon enjoyed the waiting room for children at the hospital.

Aunt Kalena was able to make to the hospital after she got off work.

100_0864

She moved in with us for the summer and than moved to the Plaza in Kansas City on August 1st with a friend from high school Tiffany that moved back here from Maine.  Kalena is working 3 part time jobs.  She has a job 2 blocks from her apartment at Eddie Baurer's, started selling ads for a spanish magazine, and also is working for the VFW when ever they get behind in the department when she worked full time for them.  She is enjoying not working 8 to 5.  She has been going to Gregory since it is closer to the Plaza but still goes to Lawrence when she makes plans to see old friends on Sundays.

On Saturday he was more relaxed and was enjoying the closet in his Mom's room

He had the biggest smile when we would close him in the closet and open the door and say "boo!"

Both Landon's were having fun.

He finally decided he wasn't so scary after all.  Grandma is going to have a lot of fun with these little guys.  I had so much fun with Little Landon for 3 days.  But I can tell I am not as young as I use to be.  When Little Landon went to sleep at 8 pm, I couldn't get in the shower fast enough and off to bed.  I hurt all over from lifting him, carrying him, playing outdoors, indoors, and constantly on the move.  I need to get into shape.  :)

We have had a busy year.  I went to work full time for health insurance for Rob until he could go on medicare Aug. 1st.  I am back to part time now.  Rob has had a good summer.  He has been able to do more this year.  He built 3 raised beds, 48 feet long by 4 feet wide.  We had 5 men from church come on Saturday to help fill the beds with dirt.  Than another Saturday we had over 20 men, women, and children from church come and finish filling them with dirt.  It rained the whole time but they all wanted to get the job done anyway.  We have never seen our church family so dirty.  It was like kids playing in mud.  We really appreciate all they did for us.  Rob was so happy.  He loves to garden so this is going to be great each year.

We made it to the lake for a week and a half.  Hope to get out there before the season closes Oct. 15th.

Since I have been back to part time we redid 2 of the 2 bedrooms.  We decided since we will be living here for a few more years, since the raised beds were built....I know we aren't going anywhere to soon.  hehehe  We will make the house work for us now since the kids are gone. Since we are together so much we need our own space from time to time.  LOL So off to Nebraska Furniture Mart we went with our measurements of the rooms.  We were there from 10 am to 3:30 with a lunch break with Kalena and Tiffany and we got furniture that would work for the rooms.

I have a new office with furniture we had to put together ourselves so that took 3 days.  I love my new room.  We did make room for the twin bed, incase Kalena might want to stay over.

Rob has a media/office/library room.  Got new book shelves and 2 gliders.  We buy a lot of things at garage sales and Kalena wonder why we bought new shelves.  :)  I told her we didn't have anything of value to hand down to the kids when we die and chuckled.  We bought a pull down screen, so Rob has a room to watch football and basketball.

Now we have pack n plays for the babies and a really nice air mattress like a regular bed so when Landon's family comes we have room for them too.  But since they don't spend the night that often we can enjoy the house ourselves.   Plus we have the camper for a guest house.  Landon and family moved to Blue Mound, Kansas the same weekend Kalena moved in with us.  So now the babies are about an hour from us.

Well, I think I made up the last 9 months since I have been on here much.

It's Going To Be Another Boy

100_0468

This little guy is going to have a little brother name Xavier at the end of September.  Everything is going along great with this pregnancy.

100_0502

He never fusses very often, so I had to get a picture.  He had an ear infection.

The kids are all moving at the end of May.  Landon and family are moving to Blue Mound, Kansas, that is about 1 hour and 15 minutes from us.  Kalena is moving in with us for the summer to save up money to possibly move to New York in August or November.  So I am trying to adjust to all the changes once again.  :)

Rob is doing really well right now.  He is busy with the yard.  Everything always looks so good right now.

Grandma Is Going To Be Having More FUN!

If Little Landon could understand the news that is going around here, then this is the look he would probably  have...hehehehe

100_0412

"WHAT!  It's not going to be just me anymore?"

But if I show him all the fun that Moses and Emerald have together, he will be fine.  This is how he would react.

100_0416

Yes, a new little Grogan is showing up in September.  Toni's due date is on my Mom's birthday, September 24th.  My Mom, Kalena, and I won't have to wait our turn to hold a little one.  We will have an extra one to have fun with.  I joked with my Mom, now we will just have to switch off and on when she comes over on Mondays.  See who is up for chasing the one that is walking everywhere.

Rob is doing a lot better.  He is off the pain medicines and able to walk okay again.  He was able to get over this episode a lot faster than the last ones.  He is learning how to manage them.  It was a long 5 weeks but it makes us appreciate when he is doing better.

I'm still adjusting to being at work everyday.  Rob loves to call and tell me the Grandson is here...like "ha ha" your not here.  Then he sends me pictures of all the visitors that come by while I am gone.

100_0428

Great Uncle Brad...now that makes my little brother sound old.

I can pick what hours I want to work as long as I get 35 hours in.  So I have to say I go in a little late on Monday's so I can see this guy.
