On September 19th, 2008 at 11:11 am my second Grandson was born. He weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long. Mom and Xavier are doing well. It was a busy time and we kept Little Landon and I went to work today so there wasn't anytime to post anything. I just spent an hour trying to download pictures and putting it all together and I accidently closed AOL and now I start all over.
He had a lot of dark hair. Sunday it looked like he had just got a nice hair cut. Little Landon didn't have dark hair. Little Landon didn't want to get to close to his new brother.
Curled his nose up at him.
I like how Grandpa and Daddy were trying to do duo pictures.
Little Landon enjoyed the waiting room for children at the hospital.
Aunt Kalena was able to make to the hospital after she got off work.
She moved in with us for the summer and than moved to the Plaza in Kansas City on August 1st with a friend from high school Tiffany that moved back here from Maine. Kalena is working 3 part time jobs. She has a job 2 blocks from her apartment at Eddie Baurer's, started selling ads for a spanish magazine, and also is working for the VFW when ever they get behind in the department when she worked full time for them. She is enjoying not working 8 to 5. She has been going to Gregory since it is closer to the Plaza but still goes to Lawrence when she makes plans to see old friends on Sundays. On Saturday he was more relaxed and was enjoying the closet in his Mom's room
He had the biggest smile when we would close him in the closet and open the door and say "boo!" Both Landon's were having fun.
He finally decided he wasn't so scary after all. Grandma is going to have a lot of fun with these little guys. I had so much fun with Little Landon for 3 days. But I can tell I am not as young as I use to be. When Little Landon went to sleep at 8 pm, I couldn't get in the shower fast enough and off to bed. I hurt all over from lifting him, carrying him, playing outdoors, indoors, and constantly on the move. I need to get into shape. :) We have had a busy year. I went to work full time for health insurance for Rob until he could go on medicare Aug. 1st. I am back to part time now. Rob has had a good summer. He has been able to do more this year. He built 3 raised beds, 48 feet long by 4 feet wide. We had 5 men from church come on Saturday to help fill the beds with dirt. Than another Saturday we had over 20 men, women, and children from church come and finish filling them with dirt. It rained the whole time but they all wanted to get the job done anyway. We have never seen our church family so dirty. It was like kids playing in mud. We really appreciate all they did for us. Rob was so happy. He loves to garden so this is going to be great each year. We made it to the lake for a week and a half. Hope to get out there before the season closes Oct. 15th. Since I have been back to part time we redid 2 of the 2 bedrooms. We decided since we will be living here for a few more years, since the raised beds were built....I know we aren't going anywhere to soon. hehehe We will make the house work for us now since the kids are gone. Since we are together so much we need our own space from time to time. LOL So off to Nebraska Furniture Mart we went with our measurements of the rooms. We were there from 10 am to 3:30 with a lunch break with Kalena and Tiffany and we got furniture that would work for the rooms. I have a new office with furniture we had to put together ourselves so that took 3 days. I love my new room. We did make room for the twin bed, incase Kalena might want to stay over. Rob has a media/office/library room. Got new book shelves and 2 gliders. We buy a lot of things at garage sales and Kalena wonder why we bought new shelves. :) I told her we didn't have anything of value to hand down to the kids when we die and chuckled. We bought a pull down screen, so Rob has a room to watch football and basketball. Now we have pack n plays for the babies and a really nice air mattress like a regular bed so when Landon's family comes we have room for them too. But since they don't spend the night that often we can enjoy the house ourselves. Plus we have the camper for a guest house. Landon and family moved to Blue Mound, Kansas the same weekend Kalena moved in with us. So now the babies are about an hour from us. Well, I think I made up the last 9 months since I have been on here much. |
